ABOUT THE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

Falmouth Institute and the National Native American Human Resources Association (NNAHRA) have teamed
up to create the Indian Country Human Resource Certification Program.This professional development program
will provide HR professionals working in Indian Country an opportunity to become trained in human resources
topics, issues, laws and regulations unique to tribal organizations and enterprises. Become certified and use your
Indian Country Human Resources Certification to:

Once you become certified, you will carry the designation of THRP - Tribal Human Resources Professional.

CERTIFICATION PROCESS

Become certified by completing these simple steps:

  1. Complete the Human Resource certification registration form.
  2. Submit registration fee ($75 for NNAHRA members; $175 for non-NNAHRA members).
  3. Enroll in any of the four core classes (see bullets below) within 12 months of registering for certification:
  4. Complete all four core certification classes and take the exam within 18 months of taking the first class OR
    Complete the On-Site Five-Day Executive Program, in which Falmouth will provide your staff with a focused overview of each of the four core classes (listed above) during a one-week, five-day session.

TESTING INFORMATION

You must take the exam within 18 months of completing the first core class and within seven days of completing the fourth and final session in your certification plan. You must complete and submit the exam registration form, along with a non-refundable $100 exam fee, 10 business days prior to the start of your fourth and final core class. To receive your Human Resource Certification, you must pass the online qualifying exam. The exam consists of 100 multiple choice and true/false questions drawn from the HR Certification Program course content. You will receive instructions on how to access the exam, as well as your unique username and password via email after you have completed the Certification Program. You will have seven days to access the exam. You must complete the exam in one sitting and you will receive your results immediately after you submit it. Your certificate of HR Certification will be sent to you after you have passed the exam. If you do not pass the exam on your first attempt, you will have one year to re-test. You may take the exam a total of three times, after which you will have to register for and attend the HR Certification courses again before you are permitted to re-test. You must pay the $100 exam fee each time you register to take the exam.

ADJUNCT FACULTY

The four core classes will be administered by professionals with years of human resources and employment law experience working in Indian Country.

MAINTAINING YOUR CERTIFICATION

Your certification is valid for one year from the test date. To maintain certification, you must attend 12 hours of qualified training and submit a certification maintenance form by the expiration date. Please click here for form. Acceptable training includes:
